PM Shehbaz and Son Hamza Request Relief in Ramzan Sugar Mills Case Under Revised NAB Law

Recently, changes were made to the NAB (National Accountability Bureau) law. Because of these changes, the lawyer for the father and son asked the court to send their case back to the NAB chairman. They said the accountability court should not handle the case anymore.

The court asked the NAB to reply by October 11. It also allowed Shehbaz Sharif to miss the court hearing for one day, and his representative, Anwar Hussain, went for him.

Earlier, the accountability court decided not to continue with the Nooriabad Power Project case. This decision was made after the NAB asked to drop the case. The Supreme Court had ruled a month ago, allowing changes to the NAB law.

The new ruling supported the changes to the NAB law and helped many political leaders, especially from the ruling PML-N party. The decision was made by a group of judges led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, who overruled previous decisions made by other judges.
