Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said that the opposition’s claims about being ready to talk to the government are not true. Raoof Hasan, a former spokesperson for the ruling party, had said PTI was ready for talks. But Imran, who is in prison in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, told reporters that there is no need to talk to the government.
Imran Khan explained that Raoof Hasan was wrong and that PTI had already decided not to talk to the government. Before Imran’s statement, Hasan had said that PTI was ready for talks both yesterday and today.
Hasan believed that it was important for PTI and the government to talk soon. He said that PTI has always wanted to talk to the government. However, Imran Khan had earlier asked his party to delay a big protest in Rawalpindi on September 28. He also said he knew the government would stop PTI from holding the protest.
