Faizan Khan Arrested for Threatening Shah Rukh Khan
Faizan Khan, a lawyer from Raipur, was arrested on Tuesday by Mumbai police. He is accused of making a death threat and demanding INR 5 million from Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. The police traced the threatening call to Faizan’s home in Raipur. He was arrested at his house.
The call was made to a police station in Bandra, Mumbai, and Faizan has been charged with extortion and criminal intimidation under Indian law. Faizan claimed he lost his phone on November 2 and filed a report at the police station. He said the call from his number could be part of a forgery plot.
Faizan told police he was scared of the threats he received and did not want to give his statement in person. He asked to give his statement online instead. Faizan also told the Mumbai Police Commissioner about his fears.
He also claimed that he had filed a case against Shah Rukh Khan at the Bandra police station, accusing the actor of causing problems between religious groups. Faizan said he was being framed because of his criticism of Shah Rukh Khan.
Faizan, who belongs to the Bishnoi community in Rajasthan, said he was offended by Shah Rukh Khan’s 1993 movie Anjaam, which showed deer being killed. The Bishnoi community protects deer, and Faizan believes the movie was disrespectful.
He also made a video on YouTube where he linked Shah Rukh Khan to terror activities and said this might have led to his current problems.
Salman Khan Also Threatened by Bishnoi Gang
Earlier this year, two members of a dangerous criminal gang were arrested for attacking Salman Khan’s house. The Bishnoi gang is upset with Salman Khan because of an incident from 1998, when he was accused of killing two blackbucks during a hunting trip. The Bishnoi community believes blackbucks are sacred, and the gang has been threatening Salman Khan ever since.
